We are delighted to be facilitating the following seminars for members of the Law Society of Scotland in October:
Leading and Managing Meetings: 9th October 2019
Meetings, whether with clients or with colleagues, are an integral part of our professional lives. Poorly managed, they can waste valuable time and demotivate those involved.
In this session we explore best practice in leading and participating in meetings in order to maximise their output.
We will be joined for part of the session by guest speaker Vince McKeown. Having held senior positions within the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, Scottish Council for Development and Industry and now CEO of the Citizens Advice Bureau, Airdrie, Vince will bring a unique perspective on the challenge of leading meetings towards a successful outcome.

The Resilient Leader: 31st October 2019
Resilience is an essential quality that every leader and aspiring leader needs to develop and demonstrate.
The leader’s job is most often to drive change by inspiring others towards a common vision and dealing with the inevitable challenges along the way. This session explores the mindset and skill-set of the resilient leader in the context of change.
We then bring resilience to reality in conversation with Lorna Jack, Chief Executive, Law Society of Scotland, who will share her personal insights into how she has become the resilient leader she is today.
During this interactive session we will be joined by Alistair Hall, Global Head of Marketing Operations for Aberdeen Standard Investments and Johan Cras, UK Managing Director of Kempen (Fiduciary Management) who will share their personal and professional insights and experiences of executive coaching. Carole Ritchie, Head of HR for law firm Shepherd ...
We’ve been busy this year facilitating workshops for many of our corporate clients as well as on behalf of the Law Society of Scotland, ICAS and the Professional Bodies Forum.
Our workshops support the three key themes that often feature in our work with clients: Leadership, Collaboration and Growth:
All our workshops are interactive. We encourage delegates to learn from one another’s experiences and challenges as they discuss the course content. We work hard to create a safe environment where participants feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and feelings.
In terms of numbers we can accommodate from 5 to 50 participants depending on the subject, time available and room configuration. In working with the Scottish Board of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, we ran a series of workshops on the theme of the Leading Actuary, with over 150 Actuaries attending.
Where possible, we will split a full day session into two half day sessions spread a few weeks apart to allow time for participants to reflect on and apply their learning more effectively.
Where appropriate, we can interleave 1:1 coaching with participants into a workshop programme to help clients in their personal development.
Past participants report that our workshops have exceeded their expectations in terms of impact and confidence building. Shared learning from the common group coaching discussions has also helped them deal with challenges and embed learning.
